I am a retired naval aviator, semi-retired carpenter, woodworker, home remodeler, and full-time writer. I live in the Bitterroot valley of western Montana. I am married to the wonderful Colleen Miller. Currently we live with five cats and zero dogs. We will probably rescue and adopt a new dog or two sometime in the coming year after we recover from the grief of losing our previous fur-babies to old age. I have written drafts of several novels which will never be published. My focus now is on creating a portfolio of short stories. I won the Vereen Bell award for fiction at Davidson College in 1981 for the short story “L.G.’s Tragic Fall.” Will I ever be published again? Maybe, probably, I don’t know. My focus is writing one short story that really pleases me. Then to write about twenty-nine more of them.
